Ouah

That’s great news but I have a hard time seeing this getting into effect. Oo

Destiny 2?!?

Damn even as a gutted zombie Bungie manage to rack in the cash…

Shame the infamous games are still not available/playable on PC or outside the PS3.

Loved Prototype a the time and I’d really like to give a try to Infamous.

I’m extremely frustrated by lineageOS only supporting SOME (could easily say the minority) version of the phones they describe as supported.

I wanted to give my old S8 a new life… Well the European version doesn’t seem to be supported…

I’m still extremely salty over Homeworld 2, that I waited like the messiah, for this…

Love amplitude and the universe they spanned across their games.

I hope they’ll be able to make it work and continue creating great games. :)

Same for me, started playing D2 at launch (No console sir wasn’t able to play D1). PvE only, PvP when cheese was possible.

Loved the game, the story, the great gameplay and shoot/power feeling.

Stayed in for years but, in indsight I played more and more because I felt I needed to instead of wanted to.

They started vaulting content with shitty excuses, made the game very hard for new players (best way to kill it long term), added monetisation and FOMO left and right.

FOMO finally burned me out before lightfall. Didn’t preco and that was the smart thing to do. This extension was simply scandalous: rushed, very poorly written, bad characters (and there wasn’t that much of them). It was hastly put together to be able to push final shape and it felt. Quite there and then.

On one hand I’m happy I stopped giving money to a Company that clearly didn’t give a fuck to both its players and employees.

On another hand it’s a shame because the game was good, art direction incredible, story - even if sometime badly narrated and complicated- was deep and great.

Edit: ah gambit was great, especially with a full team.

Yeah, completly agree with you.

I tried it again after a 10 years hiatus and… Forgot how good and game is and… how time consuming as well.

I stumbled upon an expression summarising it perfectly: EVE isn’t a video game, it’s a hobby. Requiring time and dedication.

It was fine during college, but now… Not anymore.

On their blog they explain they initially went for a reboot, but their editor refused to finance it and wanted “just” a remaster.

So they choose to do a remake instead.

Well I’d simply want to avoid giving biometric data to Google…

I meant, it just makes things more complicated than “classic” RTS, making the pause even more helpful (giving precise order can be complicated, but I’ve only tried one control type out of two-ish)

Honestly during the campaign it’s really helpful.

Compared to the two previous games, this one require more micro management (or at least benefit from it).

And “other RTS games [requires micro management] as well, without pause”: indeed, but playing in full 3D/volume complicate things.

Edit: trying to rephrase for clarity

To be fair, thy said the one player game campaign doesn’t need it, but multiplayer did.

That’s still the case and that’s why steam is giving refund: people are basically buying the game with part missing.

I’d be curious to see the sale results of the games while takeling the amount of console/PC present as well as the market size during the release year.

We might have surprise about results of all the games with these parameters.

Same here!

I had to get rid of the 2nd edition one year ago because of a contact/short issue. :(

So useful to know who was speaking in mumble/teamspeak when I had only one screen…

And the shortcut keys were useful at the time (I don’t have much use for them now).

Edit: I’ve seen the video and yes, I forgot how CLEAR the software was. It was extremely easy to set, set the shortcuts to work as you wanted.

The current new logitec soft/driver is an utter shit, buggy, extremely confusing (I gave up on trying to setup the backlight how I want it because how stupidly confusing the UI is) and crashing all the time.

Went back to it last month after a 10 years yatus.

Game still here, with a lot of changes since.

However, it’s still requiring a lot of time an commitment. And I realized that I don’t have either to give to a video game now.

Ahaha I have the same problem. https://sh.itjust.works/post/13148131

Another thing is that the pixel8a has been leaked and that it solves the biggest Pixel 8 issue: The camera bar is thinner.

I was Impressed by the Google traduction from Polish to English, the article was Was to read!

Yeah I agree, I’m more concerned by security patches than major overall.

I don’t know much about GrapheneOS, but if there is a S23 compatible version, I think I’ll tend toward this phone.

From what I’ve noted down, the main problem I had with the zenfone was a short update coverage (up to 2025 for the Zenfone 10 I think?)

Ah I might have confused the two phones. I had read it in a comment on this community a while back.

Ah, good to know I’ll check for my specific banking app. Thanks!

Choice of Compact Android Smartphone - 2024 edition
Hello all, My Galaxy S8 is starting to feel its age. After now close to 7 years of service, it's starting to show its limits. The usual problems: Battery getting weaker and weaker, generally slow (My once/month visit of instagram for example is... a stutter) and, mot simportantly, no more security update. I'm tempted to switch it to GrapheneOS and continue but I'm really afraid some "official" apps won't work anymore (mostly banking apps). In October last year I started my quest for a new Android phone with the **S8 form factor, or as close as possible** for pocket-fit. I've checked the various guide on this community and came ouf with the same question I had while doing research on my side. # Contenders were: - **Fairphone 5**, which philosophy was extremely tempting, especially the "fair" aspect and the self-repairing capabilities. However, its form factor and what I heard about extremely slow patch/updates were the last nail in its coffin-size (161.6 x 75.83 x 9.6 mm). - **Cosmic Dolphin** ([Link](https://cosmicdolphins.ch/product/untraceable-phone)) was also extremely tempting (secure OS, mechanical switch for GPS/Camera/Mice...) but a new company means possible bancrupcy and no more security update, plus the form factor (159.7 x 73.3 x 7.8 mm) meant it was also a no. - **Xperias 5V** and other in the lineup seemed interesting, especially the SD card slot. But no info regarding software updates and way to expensive. # Only two made the cut and I have to choose between: None have a SD card, jack socket or removable battery but it seems these features are becoming more and more of a rarity. Both have a at least 4 years of updates still. **Galaxy S23** Positives: * 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6 mm * Updates for at least 3 years * 128 / 256 Gb Storage * Cheaper now that the S24 should arrive soon. Negatives: * ~~Proc is a bit less efficient (meaning less time for the same battery size)...~~ Based on comments it may be the opposite, with the S23 being more efficient. **Pixel 8** Positives: * 150.5 x 70.8 x 8.9 mm * 7 year of updates * 128 / 256 Gb Storage * ~~I heard their Proc were more efficient than S23's~~ Based on comments it may be the opposite, with the S23 being more efficient. * Compatible with GrapheneOS (if test on my old S8 shows the important app I have still work there). Negatives: * Google... Data leach amon leeches. * This insuferable camera bar on the back... Not really handy and will probably ruin a lot of pant's pocket. I'm split between these two. * Would you have any advices regarding one or the other? * Points I haven't mentionned here?

Damn I was also thinking of taking the FP5, but your report of it being sluggish really make me reconsider.

It’s really a shames they do a home run on everything else and then fails just on the UX at the end…

Edit: ans reading below, slow and irregular security update is even worse…

I played the first two, but not Arkham Knight.

I’ve heard a lot of good thing about the batmobile addition in it and would love to use this opportunity to test it out :)

Never touched the “shadow of…” license but heard a lot of good as well. Curious to try them out as well (even if batman probably more my thing).

Ah you ça change the data storage easily? Hmmmm thanks for pointing this out.

Hadn’t had much news on bungie since I left Destiny when discovered the hybrid cashgrab/turd that was Lightfall. Reddit was my main source of info, so leaving it for Lemmy didn’t help.

I had no idea they went trough a massive layoff.

It’s a shame, most of what I had against D2 was clearly management-related and the team feelt so talented (Arts, Gameplay, story…).

Ah they kept the graphical choice of Planetary Annihilation… Not my favorite (I know, purely personal taste).

Like the idea a lot thought. Could be fun to have a “two mans team” mode where you can split the tasks however you want (two different fronts with production and battle? One full production and one commander? Etc…)

Wasn’t Planetary Annihilation developed by Uber? I need to take a look a the kickstarter. Thanks for the share!

Ah nice! So my old ways of doing things (alt in destroyer with 4 tractor beam and 4 salvager) seems obsolete now.

Why do a remake of the worst ES? Lazyness?

Bethesda, do a (good!) rework of morrowind, you cowards!

Ah that’s true, I realize it now that you put it your finger in it: ME2 is really a “let’s tour the universe” kind of story fleshing out the background of known races (and adding new ones) and places.

Whaaaaaat? They made a game for this lego serie? OK now I NEED to try it. Thanks for the share!
