Yeah and you can still see the impressive art team at play with marathon (in impressed they still managed to keep talented people, seeing how they fired people left and right).
However, is there really a market for extraction shooter these days? The choice of making this kind of game really feel like trend chasing and generaly this doesn’t end well…
I was extremely active on it until lightfall.
The way they added story “filler”, the nonsensical scenario, the fomo/mandatory grind as well as the “you have to pay for everything” finally pushed me over the edge of my rabbid “I need to play” and completionist tendency. It was the last straw.
I’m gland I left because it’s when shit started e to hit the fan:
Shame because
I might give it a go again, but it’ll not be the same without my old clan.
Hope you’ll enjoy the Switch 2! :)
If I were you, I’ll be on the lookout regarding Nintendo communication about possible improvements to the joycon drift problem of the Switch 1. Especially since they said they won’t be using Hall effect joystick.
I’m back into tears of the kingdom on switch 1 these days and I understand why I dropped the game in the first place: joycon drift can be… simply rage inducing.
Same for me, started playing D2 at launch (No console sir wasn’t able to play D1). PvE only, PvP when cheese was possible.
Loved the game, the story, the great gameplay and shoot/power feeling.
Stayed in for years but, in indsight I played more and more because I felt I needed to instead of wanted to.
They started vaulting content with shitty excuses, made the game very hard for new players (best way to kill it long term), added monetisation and FOMO left and right.
FOMO finally burned me out before lightfall. Didn’t preco and that was the smart thing to do. This extension was simply scandalous: rushed, very poorly written, bad characters (and there wasn’t that much of them). It was hastly put together to be able to push final shape and it felt. Quite there and then.
On one hand I’m happy I stopped giving money to a Company that clearly didn’t give a fuck to both its players and employees.
On another hand it’s a shame because the game was good, art direction incredible, story - even if sometime badly narrated and complicated- was deep and great.
Edit: ah gambit was great, especially with a full team.
Yeah, completly agree with you.
I tried it again after a 10 years hiatus and… Forgot how good and game is and… how time consuming as well.
I stumbled upon an expression summarising it perfectly: EVE isn’t a video game, it’s a hobby. Requiring time and dedication.
It was fine during college, but now… Not anymore.
On their blog they explain they initially went for a reboot, but their editor refused to finance it and wanted “just” a remaster.
So they choose to do a remake instead.

Honestly during the campaign it’s really helpful.
Compared to the two previous games, this one require more micro management (or at least benefit from it).
And “other RTS games [requires micro management] as well, without pause”: indeed, but playing in full 3D/volume complicate things.
Edit: trying to rephrase for clarity
Same here!
I had to get rid of the 2nd edition one year ago because of a contact/short issue. :(
So useful to know who was speaking in mumble/teamspeak when I had only one screen…
And the shortcut keys were useful at the time (I don’t have much use for them now).
Edit: I’ve seen the video and yes, I forgot how CLEAR the software was. It was extremely easy to set, set the shortcuts to work as you wanted.
The current new logitec soft/driver is an utter shit, buggy, extremely confusing (I gave up on trying to setup the backlight how I want it because how stupidly confusing the UI is) and crashing all the time.
Ahaha I have the same problem. https://sh.itjust.works/post/13148131
Another thing is that the pixel8a has been leaked and that it solves the biggest Pixel 8 issue: The camera bar is thinner.
Yeah I was going to say: who’s this guy?

I played the first two, but not Arkham Knight.
I’ve heard a lot of good thing about the batmobile addition in it and would love to use this opportunity to test it out :)
Never touched the “shadow of…” license but heard a lot of good as well. Curious to try them out as well (even if batman probably more my thing).
Hadn’t had much news on bungie since I left Destiny when discovered the hybrid cashgrab/turd that was Lightfall. Reddit was my main source of info, so leaving it for Lemmy didn’t help.
I had no idea they went trough a massive layoff.
It’s a shame, most of what I had against D2 was clearly management-related and the team feelt so talented (Arts, Gameplay, story…).
It’s really great but it’s taking a LOT of time.
