Yeah it was terrible. Pretty but not a good movie at all. I was excited for that one too and when I saw the reviews decided to rent it instead. I’ll do the same here.

That’s probably where I am too.

And with news on Xbox being AI trash possibly… Consoles may be dead.

As a PC player my rule of thumb is there has to be at least 10 great games on a console before I buy a console. I owned a PS4 because it crossed the threshold before they started releasing the games on PC.

Just one or two games on my wishlist for the PS5, at this rate I’ll never buy one.

My guess is maybe they saw reduced console sales for folks like me?

You’d think by being ADHD I could do just that. But I feel like without a lobotomy I’ll just have to live with disappointment.

That’s what I thought. Looks like something children will enjoy. I’m not ready to take it off my wishlist but I almost did.

That’s fair. When my kids were young I gave up games all together for years. Now that we’re empty nesters I have lots of time! 😈

I got a copy of that to play with my son. Turned out it’s online and we shared an account so he played it and I watched on occasion.

He loved it but it’s done with it. It’s something I could install and have a go at it now that I think about it.

I’ll give it a go this weekend.

I’ve played it after several of the updates and it’s pretty much the same game with a new coat of paint. A mile wide and an inch deep. But the game keeps getting wider and playing it now for the first time would probably be pretty great.

I loved it when it first came out because since I was a little boy playing Atari in the 80s I wanted to play a game where I could fly to space, between planets, and back in real time. This was the first game that gave me a satisfying experience like that. And it’s still my favorite part.

Edit: I played Star Citizen after which is a better experience for that, I put ~80 hours in so if it never comes out I got my $50 worth of play time. But I stay fairly close to development on it hoping I’ll get to play a finished version someday.

They did for sure, and he’s now careful about what he says which is smart. He learned a ton through that very public failure.

I’m looking forward to their next game.

10 years, I was a much different man when I first played this game. Part of my would like to forget the time and start fresh with all these updates.

I have yet to find a launcher that gives me all the options I want without compromise. I’ve used all the popular ones, many less popular ones.

Though Octopi launcher might work for me. I’ve been able to overcome most of the shortcomings this morning. The having a whole new desktop between portrait and landscape is really bothersome on my tablet so we’ll see if I stick with it.

Plus Octopus is Greek not Latin. I know it’s pedantic over a name but it’s Octopuses.

I’m giving Octopi a shot. It seems to offer most of what I like from Nova. It’s a bit quirky though particularly with placing widgets and editing them.

Any pro-tips you’ve learned you can share with the launcher?

Nova launcher is still fine. I’ve used most of the others and keep coming back.

Instead of a swear jar there needs to be an AI jar.

But instead of putting coins in it when someone says something stupid like this we just kick em in the junk as hard as we can at least once per person who has to read the headline.

This is exactly right which is too bad, JC3 was perfect when it came out. The grappling hook and wing suit was perfect! No game has felt as good with travel since, though the latest Spider-Man games got close.

🤣🤣🤣

I have the same problem. When open world was new it was different but now open world just means generic and boring more often than not. The Zelda games kept me interested, Cyberpunk 2077 did as well but I used to play a pen and paper RPG a lot like it so I was going to like it no matter what. Otherwise I’d rather something unique and different.

I put a ton of hours into Astroneer if that counts. A hundred hours on my own and about the with my son which was a blast!

I had no idea. I mostly just look at reviews and the play time of those reviews. If there aren’t people with a lot of play time who completely love the game it’s probably a pass for me.

Oh same for me, I have my save with everything and I’ll go to that, see the new stuff, uninstall it 20 minutes later.

Damnit! Well I guess I’m installing this game again…

The story is alright, but the combat is pretty good.

Everspace 2 (first one was a rogue like, you don’t need to play it to enjoy the sequel)

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw (also a sequel, the first one doesn’t have a Y axys so you may not like it)

Chorus

All three are a lot of fun, neither are AAA games so they lack a bit of polish but aren’t vanilla as hell either. I enjoyed each one better than Starfield but neither as much as ME 1-3.

Also I’ve had some luck with https://www.50gameslike.com/ finding games.

Their other two games struggled but got good enough that I enjoyed them. So I’ll wait and see if they figure their crap out.

If you’re itching for a factory game that’s not as well known yet Dyson Sphere Project. I picked it up about a month ago and am nearing 200 hours in it and am hooked!

I also loved Satisfactory and Factorio.

My memory doesn’t serve me, I don’t remember the mini games. The FF I loved best was 9. My middle child (now an adult) is named after one of the characters.

It’s from a different time, when it was new it was amazing. But I’m old and was young when it came out.
