Contractors do decent work for cheap but they don’t make good games (think of how Halo Infinite was at launch). So, having full time staff is a start, and I’m glad Microsoft is smart enough to know that cooperating with unions is better for Microsoft in the long run.

Seems like a win for labor, but im sure Microsoft gets theirs in the end still

I think taking a more friendly position towards unions was also part of Microsoft’s strategy to win regulatory approval of its acquisition of ZeniMax.

It makes sense for a company that has such incredibly deep pockets to not put up much of a fight when their workforce wants better benefits and a small raise. Microsoft seems to be relatively unique among publicly traded companies in generating goodwill by not treating workers seeking to unionize horribly
