Good, but fucking hell. What’s racist is the insinuation that some emoji is racist. Some stupid racist people equate black people with monkeys or something? I don’t even get what they’re trying to imply cause it’s so stupid, but the FA is perpetuating this idea and giving racists a bigger platform.
Racism is a huge problem for sure and a lot of work needs to be put into ridding it from our society. Making a fuss over an obviously supportive social media post is not what’s needed though, it’s just distracting from the real issues.
I mean the monkey comparison is an obvious racist dogwhistle, so that would be problematic, but he used gorillas, king of the jungle.
Despite that I think he only “got away with it” (there is nothing to get away with) is because he used 2, both for Maguire and Onana and even the FA isn’t daft enough to try to explain why he is getting punished for likening Onana to a Gorilla but not Maguire.
