Hadn’t had much news on bungie since I left Destiny when discovered the hybrid cashgrab/turd that was Lightfall. Reddit was my main source of info, so leaving it for Lemmy didn’t help.
I had no idea they went trough a massive layoff.
It’s a shame, most of what I had against D2 was clearly management-related and the team feelt so talented (Arts, Gameplay, story…).
Daikatana II. Chasing after what’s already years old, and not even doing a good job of it.
Nothing quite like an article going on about unconfirmed rumors spread solely by a notorious clickbaiter.
bold move by the corpse of bungie to believe anyone cares about a multiplayer-only marathon like 25 years after the last game
I am gonna admit that the only reason I watched the trailer was because of the name. I ended up coming out of it excited by the game for it’s art direction and proposed game play. I have also played the hell out of DMZ and now am looking for the next best iteration of the formula. I stopped playing single player games a loooooong time ago.
just weird they would not use their modern scifi universe series branding and instead use… ancient scifi universe from quarter century ago that was killed off by their most well known scifi universe series that they didnt want to work on any more
Just speculating, but maybe they want to keep their options open for selling one or the other off later. That way, they re-diversify with two series that are different enough to take risks, and get emergency cash if they fail.
There’s abundant room in that universe for all kinds of crazy new stuff.
This just is not that.
