The new Mecha Comet would have been a dream device to mess about with when I was younger, a fully modular Linux-powered handheld.

Looks like someone figured out that most of the cheapo temu handheld emulators are either compatible with (or already run) various flavors of Linux already and decided to cash in on the linux gaming surge.

My $15 R36S also runs linux and didn’t need a kickstarter.

The modular I/O accessories are pretty neat though.

I kind of love that. Would be cool to see if it’s livable as a primary smartphone.

That said, the form factor does seem pretty restrictive on what games you’d want to play. The vertical format would make any wider aspect ratio games pretty much a no-go on that
