Initially Valve's Steam Hardware & Software Survey for December 2025 showed Linux at 3.19%, but they appear to have amended it with a nice boost for Linux.

There were a few issues I spotted like languages and such not adding up, but now they do so it appears there’s a few corrections that were made to it this month.

With the update, we see a few more distributions being noted in the list compared with before:

I wonder if the miscount is due to distribution names, or some other issue

Did it count each time stream asked me if I wanted to submit my results?

If so, I definitely skewed the results

Considering in absolute numbers the monthly active Linux users is around 4,725,600 I trust you haven’t skewed them too sharply.
