I’ve been unable to access the PlayStore all day. It tells me I’m not signed in even though my profile picture is visible in the top right corner. When I tap “Try again” nothing happens.

When I tap on my profile picture and then select “Google Account” it tells me I’m not connected to the internet (see screenshot). But I am, using my browser for example works just fine.

The only other app I’ve noticed having problems is Weather, which is unable to refresh and also tells me there’s no internet connection.

Any idea what’s going on here?

Thank you, it was indeed the vpn! Kinda weird because it didn’t use to cause any issues in the past. Thank you!

Is it an ad blocker or an actual VPN?

It’s DuckDuckGo’s VPN. I switched it off, suddenly PlayStore worked.fine again, switched it back on, PlayStore still works. Huh.

You need to whitelist system components like play store and play services. Since, I guess you use it for adblocking.

It’s because when it’s on you’re using their DNS servers, right now Google’s IP is cached so it still resolves. Provably if you restarted the device it would stop loading again.

Or try another server in a different location if that’s actually the problem.

I’ll try that as well, apparently it was indeed the vpn causing the issue

First step of any troubleshooting, turn it off and back on again.
Best guess would be a process crashed somewhere and hasn’t been triggered to restart

I believe it’s device dependent, but on pixels:

“On Pixel 6 and later, including Fold: Press and hold the Power button + Volume up button for a few seconds.” Either way, glad you figured out what was wrong.

maybe the vpn.

also in some cases aurora store seemed to work better than the actual play store.
