Who in the EU wants a US car, or better, why the US people prefer more and more EU and Japanese cars? Tic-Toc
Bunch of people according to most EU capitals where one can see, sadly, plenty of Swatzicars.
Am I crazy or are the shades of blue in the key of that graph completely different from the shades of blue in the graph itself?
Maybe due to the Dark Mode* I use in Webside and browser, which can change some colors in a screenshot, anyway the graph is still pretty clear.

This is the stuff I fear about self-driving cars, but now with the middleman hacker cut out. If they ever make self-driving cars mandatory, that’s my cue to move somewhere I can get around with just a bicycle. Or a cabin in the woods.
So… FWIW that’d be Brussels and I bet most European cities. By bike you can get your food in, get to the nearby Brico to fix pretty much anything in your house, get deliveries with national post service, but you can cycle all the way to the airport (if somehow you don’t want to use the train), park there and get… well pretty much anywhere else in the World.
“Lidar is lame”. Proven safer than those shitty cameras, Elon. Also surprised those 8 cameras continuously upload to Tesla servers, wtf.
I hope this sack of shit burns to death in his own crappy creation some day.
Whilst I share your sentiment, Elon Musk did not create Tesla Motors.
Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning did. Musk only got involved, and later inserted himself on the board and ultimately took it over, after they sought him out for capital investment. I often wonder what they think about that decision today.
A reasonably unbiased write up
Elon famously made the decision to cut lidar and replace with cameras instead.

Tesla faces mounting evidence of safety concerns around sudden unintended acceleration and braking issues across its vehicle lineup, with thousands of documented incidents between 2015-2025[1].
According to leaked “Tesla Files” obtained by The Guardian, the company received over 2,400 customer complaints about unintended acceleration and more than 1,500 braking issues between 2015-2022. This included 139 cases of emergency braking without cause and 383 phantom braking events[1:1].
Recent high-profile cases highlight the ongoing risks:
Tesla maintains these incidents result from driver error, stating in 2020 that “the car accelerates if, and only if, the driver told it to do so”[4]. However, independent researchers have identified potential technical issues. Dr. Ronald Belt, analyzing Tesla’s log data, found evidence suggesting sensor malfunctions could cause false acceleration signals[5].
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 2024 report concluded Tesla “failed to adequately monitor whether drivers remain alert” when using driver-assist systems. The agency found Tesla only tracks crashes where airbags deploy - about 18% of reported incidents[1:3].
