In a lot of ways I felt that 2 was an improvement on the original.
Still though, if I had to pick, there was something about the original that I liked more.
Wonderful games, both of them, though.
I loved 1 and couldn’t stomach playing 2 for more than an hour or so. Bored me to tears.
I absolutely had a blast with Psychonauts 2. I loved each and every character and levels associated with them. Since I never played the original, I honestly cannot tell if it played it safe.

So the ability to permadie would be a lives system that you could run out of lives? That seems like an old design philosophy to me.
