Yeah, I pretty much agree. I guess you could argue that Bernie is still alive, but there’s a reason the Dems never let him run, and there’s been smear campaigns against him.
Not as you interpreted it, it doesn’t. But in the metaphorical sense, (like the media keeping you focused on other things, you know the whole “bread and circuses” thing) it does.
You think the people actively support China’s flavour of authoritarian communism deliberately, and not because of fear or the media? Tell that to the Tank Man and all the others that died fighting for democracy and freedom, at the Tiananmen Square Massacre.
I don’t think I’ve heard anything that’s more ridiculous than that!
Tell that to the Uyghurs and other muslims that the CCP is sending to internment camps. I don’t think the workers in those camps control the state in any way, otherwise they wouldn’t be in there in the first place.
And your defence of dictatorships will make Trump, Musk and Thiel squeal in joy.
Bernie isn’t a challenge to capitalism, he’s a social democrat that wants welfare capitalism. Unlike Fred Hampton, MLK jr. etc.
Brainwashing does not exist. Propaganda exists in all systems, and works by appealing to felt material reality, not by fundamentally rewriting it.
The people overwhelmingly support the PRC in China, and it’s because their conditions have been dramatically improving. “Tank Man” wasn’t killed, and neither were the protestors on the square. Riots around Beijing resulted in hundreds of deaths, yes, but you’re clinging to a falsified version of events. The rioters weren’t supporting “democracy and freedom,” but a restoration of capitalism and liberal control. The protests were unpopular, and now polling shows overwhelming support for the PRC:
As for Xinjiang, read this resource guide. Support for the CPC persists in Xinjiang, despite the re-education programs for the seperatists.
All in all, you fully accept Red Scare nonsense and try to slander me as “supporting dictators” as you directly parrot the talking points of Theil, Musk, and Trump.
