Valve can have moral standards, and they can prove they’re not part of the problem by being transparent and ensuring that they do not help usher in a terrible, oppressive future.

But then they go out of business when 90% of their customers are no longer able to buy anything.
It’s an absolute lose-lose type of situation, unfortunately.
