As promised in December, the game is now completely free for everyone to enjoy—forever! This decision comes after modest sales during the first month and a half after release. While the game was still profitable, financial gain was never my primary motivation (I have an independent job outside of game development). My true passion lies in creating Zach-like games with open-ended puzzles and intricate technical solutions. Now, my goal is to reach a wider audience.
Yeah, I expect it’s a bit of trouble for the dev to refund stuff too. I can understand doing it if you’ve got something to complain about, but having paid like 8 bucks one month ago for a game that’s now free is really not worth the trouble IMO.
I’ve only refunded one game, and that’s because it literally went into a bundle the next week, where the bundle was half the game’s sale price. And even then, I still feel kinda bad about it.
The game becoming free is a good thing and in no way changes the value for people who already bought it.

Even less so if you actually enjoyed the game.
