Today, during Warning Bros' conference call, chief executive officer David Zaslav talked about Mortal Kombat 1 and the company's gaming business.

Most interesting part of the article:

"Our focus is on transforming our biggest franchises from largely console and PC-based with 3-4 year release schedules to include more always-on gameplay through live services, multiplatform, and free-to-play extensions, with the goal of having more players spending more time on more platforms. U

Ultimately, we want to drive engagement and monetization over longer cycles and at higher levels where per specific capabilities we’re currently under scale, and see significant opportunity to generate greater post-purchase revenue"

What a major turn-off ngl.

I loved MK11 and still have it on my PS5, years later. That rarely happens. But I hate the multiplayer. Primarily because I suck. The single player I can at least try and can say “input reading” when I get my ass kicked. But online? Just ends up being disrespectful douchebags. Kick my ass, fine, but do you have to be so fuckin toxic about it?

Knowing there’s a huge drop in single player content just simply means I’m not getting the game. At least not without a drastic sale. Considering Liu Kang is now a God (FUCK him, the aggravating little twat) I was already kinda meh on it. Knowing that I’d be shoved towards the ‘community’? Love you Ed Boone but you can fuck off now.

Yeah the invasions mode just isn’t fun. I’d recommend watching some footage but I was sick of it before the season ended.
