I’ve beaten all the souls games multiple times but I got stuck in DD pretty early on and just quit out of frustration. I’ve been meaning to go back but I do think it actually is that hard.

I’ve been really digging Death Stranding. It’s kind of a silly concept of just delivering packages all over the map but it seems to be scratching some itch I didn’t even know I had. I like that I can pick it up for a delivery or two as my real life schedule allows and then randomly sometimes I actually progress the story or unlock a new tool to make my courier job easier. I’m only vaguely aware of the story but it’s enough to get me to actually watch the cutscenes even if I’m confused the whole time.

Overall I’d recommend at least trying it out for a few hours since it’s one that I never thought I’d enjoy but I’ve been proven wrong.

I decided to take a break from BG3 and started playing the first Death Stranding. I’m still pretty early in the game but it’s already got me intrigued. The story is way out there and I hope it all comes together to make sense at some point.

I finally got Mario Kart 8 on the switch. It’s a blast playing with my kids and showing no mercy 😈.

I also installed the Jupiter Hell Classic demo (a demake of a remake of a roguelike unmake of Doom.) I enjoy it but similar to Jupiter Hell I’m pretty terrible at it so far. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re a roguelike fan. You can play the original unmake DRL (Doom: the roguelike) for free, or also try the demo for JHC on steam.

I just got a psvr2 and picked up Arizona Sunshine remake. It’s really cool so far except I die so often because I just cannot get the hang of manually reloading the clips. Half the time I just toss the clip on the ground and the other half I toss the gun down. I hope I’d do better if there was ever an irl zombie takeover.

I’m still playing Baldur’s Gate 3 for the past several months, over 100 hours in and barely in act 2, such a huge game.

I also finally got around to actually digging into Factorio last week and I think it may become a new addiction. I’m still early game trying to figure out how to make green science more efficiently and also gotta rebuild a portion of my factory after getting attacked last night. I might start a new save with no enemies to get a hang of the factory part in peace.

I picked up Balders Gate 3 on a recent sale to see what all the hubbub was about. I nearly gave up on it after about the first 10 hours but soon after that it finally clicked for me and I’ve been having a blast. I think I’m only about 30 hours in right now and I hear it’s easily 100+ hours so hopefully the ride remains this fun for the duration.

Playing the main character as a high elf bard. Definitely the weakest in the group at combat but it’s nice passing every persuasion check.

Bloodborne OST is the first that comes to mind for me.

My kids are 5 and 7. The 7 year old is able to do most of the game on her own but there are definitely frustrating sections for her. My 5 year old isn’t shy about handing the controller to me when he needs help. I think 7 is a perfect age for getting into the game mechanics but the subject matter may raise awkward questions.

I’ve completed this game twice with my kids. By far the most requested game they want to play because of the coop. The subject matter might be a little deep for their age but the gameplay is stellar.

I just picked up Hogwarts Legacy on the recent PlayStation sale. Haven’t made it too far in yet but I can tell this game will eat up some hours.

Elden Ring to get a new character ready for the DLC. Picked up Symphony of War: The Nephilim Saga on a recent sale. Still only a few hours in so just now getting into some of the more complex squad builds. Seems like there will be tons of ways to customize the squads, I anticipate many more hours spent.

Been on a KeeperRL kick for a couple weeks but after this last loss I think I’m done with it for a while. Balatro has also been keeping me occupied. I just started a strength build in elden ring a couple days ago to get ready for the dlc. I made a mistake by starting NG+ on my first character and I don’t want to try the DLC on even harder mode.

I picked up Dredge on sale a few weeks ago and got the platinum trophy recently. It’s my first platinum trophy to ever get. The game was well worth the price even if I hadn’t gotten it on sale.

Both of these games are so unique in their style and I love both of them. Great recommendations.

Looks like this is what I bought almost exactly 3 years ago: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 6-Core, 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Spire Cooler

I’m playing with a Ryzen 5 and a 970 and it runs pretty smooth on low settings. I’m not a graphics whore though so I don’t mind the visuals on low.

Didn’t even consider this one because I never left it. Having it on mobile means I’m playing it in way too many situations I shouldn’t be.

I really want Armored Core 6 after seeing gameplay but my budget is tight right now. Also itching for BG3 but I have owned BG1 EE for years so finally playing that, and also just bought BG2 EE last night on steam for $6 so those will hopefully hold me over a while.

And then there’s MK1 coming out soon but I know that’ll eventually be packaged with all the Kombat packs for cheap in a few years so holding off there too.

Mike Tyson’s Punchout. I still play it occasionally as an adult and it’s still just as fun as when I was a kid.
