1. Yes, I’ll do a better job with sound quality going forward. My external pop filter is on the way (there was a pop filter in the mic), and I now understand how to use the sound mixing software a little better so next episode should sound better with less noise.

2. According to Spotify’s documentation it sounds like sharing an RSS feed can lead to some irreversible outcomes like scraping, appearing on services without my knowledge etc, so let me figure this out first. Sorry about that.

I think more than anything it’s about finding a podcast you vibe with. I was recently looking for a basketball podcast and I listened to the first few mins of like 5-6 podcasts until I found one I liked. My reasons for starting a podcast of my own partly stem from my distrust of established games media, and feeling like they’re not talking about things I care about or notice in games - especially when it comes to game UI and how that affects the whole experience.

There’s a few details I touch on in my review about FFXVI that I haven’t really heard elsewhere - not that I can consume all reviews/discussions but that kind of thing made me want to get my own thoughts out there.

Also, making a podcast has been on my mind for a while now and I really wanted to see it through.

Hey all, just a quick update on my podcast plans:

As of today I’ve recorded about 45% of the 1st episode and I feel pretty good about it. Considering some of the feedback here I’m going to record the first 2 episodes and launch the podcast next Wednesday. This will actually really help because I need to travel quite a bit 2 weeks from now for a wedding and I’ll still be able to post the 2nd episode on schedule.

I want the episodes to be somewhat topical and keep up with recent news / releases so I’m probably not going to record that far in advance. I’m thinking today might not work for launch but I’m going to try for tomorrow or I’ll have to push to next week. The stat about 3-4 episodes makes sense, that was my cutoff point as well lol
