There’s a mod for it that’s almost flawless btw

I haven’t played it yet but my buddy did it coop and said it was one of his favorites. And I quote

“[His coop players name] and I agree that that was probably one of the best games we’ve played, like top 20 all time”

Bought it and have played 10-15h or so. The game definitely needs something to add some staying power. It’s way too chill. I know there’s a subset of people that want that and they could still continue to offer it (like Dyson Sphere Program adding optional combat). Something to make you have to work for it other than the really non-issue of citizens being very briefly injured while picking if you don’t pay attention.

It is beautiful however. Graphics and UI are both very well done.

According to the devs on Twitter the PSN account is not required for single player – only if you want to use the Legends multiplayer mode.

I think more accurately would be the Division mixed with Far Cry in space. Kinda like the new Avatar from Massive as well.

Don’t have to wait long, it’ll be here in May

I’m playing it now on PC and it’s an amazing port. Looks great, runs beautifully with tons of options. 20h or so in now and very pleased

In the US pronunciation the “h” is silent in “herb” so “an” is used as the following sound is a vowel. “an herb” in US English is correct

Now on Steam

Edit: You’re thinking of the remaster. This is the packaging / bundle of all the old games that came out in 2012 that was exclusive to Origin.

Store page does not list Origin as a dependency, but I can’t know for certain

While they remain mostly unchanged from the Origin version, it does include some updates to the map editors to make them work in 2024.

See here for some comments from the producer that made it happen:

Dear C&C Community,

It’s been a few years since I had the opportunity to reach out and engage with you directly. I’ve truly missed that. I hope you have all stayed safe, healthy, and positive since my last post in September of 2020.

I realize many of you have been wondering about the status of Command & Conquer over the past several years. After the launch of the first C&C Remastered Collection, I told our Community Council I would continue to try and find opportunities to support the C&C community and franchise wherever possible. With that in mind, I do have an announcement we think the entire C&C Community can get excited about. The C&C Ultimate Collection is now live on Steam

https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/39394/Command__Conquer_The_Ultimate_Collection/

How did this come to happen? Well, a while back I heard some team members at EA had the desire to launch some of our classic titles on Steam. After hearing about this initiative, several of us proposed we include the C&C Ultimate Collection. We knew this has been a request of the C&C community for over a decade, and has been an equal goal of us passionate C&C folks around the company. As such, a dedicated strike team here at EA has been pushing to make this a reality - but we knew we couldn’t do it alone. So in the spirit of our community collaboration from the Remastered Collection, we reached out to a small group of the C&C Community to understand how we could best deliver the Ultimate Collection on Steam.

The feedback and collaboration has once again been invaluable. With improvements like better compatibility for modern operating systems and additional supported languages for both the Steam and EA App versions, we believe this is the best release of the Ultimate Collection to date.

Alongside the launch of the Ultimate Collection on Steam, we are also excited to announce the release of the beloved map editors FinalSun and FinalAlert 2 under the GPL version 3.0 license, which can also be launched directly from the Steam version of Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2. Now over 20 years since their initial release, original creator Matthias Wagner has generously repackaged these classic editors into a more compatible version for 2024. This was achievable thanks to the technical collaboration with Luke “CCHyper” Feenan,>!!< and the kindness of Olaf van der Spek, who has graciously released his XCC Library under the GPL 3.0 license as part of this effort. We cannot thank Matthias, Luke, and Olaf enough for making this a reality for the C&C community, and are eager to see where the tools and content creation go from here.

A huge thank you to the community playtesters who helped provide feedback on this version of the Ultimate Collection, and the organizations of CnCNet, W3DHub, and C&C Online for continuing to support these classic titles. We hope you all enjoy these improvements to the C&C Ultimate Collection - available today on Steam.

Until next time.

Cheers,

Jim Vessella

There are very much some dumb ass “micro” transactions but people love to give it a pass for some reason.

If you think of it as an extension of the movies, then you know what to expect. Story wise, those are fairly mediocre (and this game is canon so expect about the same). Visuals are outstanding though, and I can’t speak for everyone but I’m really enjoying the gameplay and exploration.

Likewise. Kojima coming on stage was me hoping for DS2 as well.

Me too! Loved the Ori games, so excited to see what’s next. Updated the post with a higher quality link.

I played 40-50h on the deck and it’s great. You have to adjust the resolution to make sure it goes into controller friendly mode.

No, but we can from all the other games that also include FSR & DLSS side by side. I’m glad FSR is a competitor and is gaining traction but the clarity, especially in motion, doesn’t compare to DLSS.

“inspired by” may be a better term for it

Different media types, and the book this game is based on predates the comic of a similar name by about 40 years.

It’s an RTS. The steam page is already up for it (with a demo, IIRC)

We watched the TV cut, so as ep 1 & 2 of the TV series through Amazon prime. Ended up buying the Blu-ray of SG1 for the rest once we got addicted

My fiance and I are watching through the whole Stargate series for the first time. I’d love a good Stargate game but from what I’ve seen so far I’m really skeptical on this pulling through.

That’s a uh… Pretty short list for a minor release version

IIRC that mod is made by an employee. So basically integrating it natively to better support the functionality, and better balancing it for the “base” factorio experience - and thank God. Space Exploration was always a bit much to me. Krastorio is more my speed.

Working through Cyberpunk & DLC and Lords of the Fallen (2023). Cyberpunk is probably the most beautiful game I’ve played with the path tracing updates. LOTF is a pretty competent souls clone. Got some interesting ideas. I hope they continue to patch it as quickly as they are to bring it up to par.

Really appreciating all the patches. For the love of all that is holy I hope they fix the NG+ “gimmick.”

I have a 4090 and a i9-10850k @ 5440x1440. With frame gen it’s vsynced to my monitor at 120fps solid. Without, it’s about 70-100 depending on the scene. Both at ultra. Better performance than Remnant 2 on release for me - by quite a bit. Reducing some of the more advanced settings (like the “ray tracing” enabled with GI and reflections) helps boost that 70 min.

That’s correct. Though it has some interesting mechanics of its own, it’s very much a “souls like.”

Game seems to be running a little better, and I’m glad to be able to force enable frame gen. Only about 3 hours in but enjoying it so far.

It says that in the graphics description for both of those options (reflections and global illumination). While I think those being separate toggles should have helped being able to work with graphics options (and optimize for your device) should be a basic requirement for playing on a PC

Awesome. I’ve used the original version for a while and it makes a big difference. Some of the textures in Cyberpunk are bizarrely low resolution by default.

Oof, that one with the blu ray drive looks far worse now.

Tech is just as bad if not worse. We’ve had multiple rounds of layoffs. First few were honestly trimming the fat, but last one we lost some really good people.

Finally finished up the first playthrough of Baldurs Gate with my buddy. Amazing game. Working my way through finalizing all the things in Starfield right now. Despite the many, MANY, flaws that game is just clicking with me right now. Will probably be returning to Factorio and Cyberpunk to play the DLC here shortly.

Phantom Liberty is not available on “last gen” consoles IIRC, hence the lack of any of them showing.
