I’m more inclined to not be annoyed too much by ads on podcasts where you know it’s just some guy or gal getting compensated for the work they are putting into their podcast. That said, maybe I’m getting way fewer ads on Antennapod because of said adblocking, not sure.

I will say, it has a bug where it will not work in a work profile. You can install it but it won’t playback. Which is annoying. But for me it is a small complaint.

So they’re keeping Python devs just Python devs in Munich…

Transpiler, that’s it. And thanks for your answer.

This might be a stupid question, but how is this different from cross compilers? Is it more natural and readable?

For whatever reason the US never moved on from SMS… and Apple took advantage of that.

That and dipshit Americans still use SMS. The rest of the free world uses WhatsApp.

No clue if this will work for you or not, but there are a few things you might try.

  1. Increase the TTL for packets on your computer from 64->65 or from 128->129. It makes it harder for them to tell that the traffic isn’t coming to the phone.
  2. If you can live with USB tethering and also do #1, I have had zero problems. And got much better speeds than with any hotspot.
  3. If the OS is blocking this then… yeah sorry… join the Free World and get a custom ROM.

It is hard when you have a business. You really have to actively try to stay away from them. They control so much business infrastructure.

I know my business partner (god bless him, great friend but…) is super into big tech and every new product they offer. So it’s a bit of an uphill battle.

And I’m lucky. I own my own firm. Most people don’t have such a luxury.

It’s coming along nicely. I donate and am a fan.

Do you think a low barrier to entry would be a good thing though? I feel as though that would invite politics, censorships, free speech discussions and the like into the Fediverse.

Normies, culturally, will still be normies. I know various fandom subcultures have suffered sad fates like this.

I don’t know, I think a usability/freedom balance needs to be delicately handled.

Very true. Normies are gonna be normies no matter what. That does not make them bad people but it does mean that we probably don’t want them in droves over here. It would make the Fediverse much more vulnerable to being taken over by something by a centralized, corporate`` service.
