I wouldn’t bet on it. It’s published by epic, after all. The Alan Wake remaster still hasn’t made it to steam, either.

I know David cage is problematic but what is that thing about Elliot page you are alluding to? I haven’t heard of that. Of course I know he was in beyond two souls so must have worked with cage but that’s the extent of my knowledge

I doubt that will happen. DXVK and VKD3D are just too good these days, so even if a developer wants to make sure their game runs on the steamdeck they’ll probs just try to increase its proton compatibility

This could be very helpful, but only if dualshock support also means that vibrations work and dualsense support means haptic feedback and/or adaptive triggers. There are way too many games that have support but only for controls and button prompts. For those, I’d rather use DS4Windows or DSX to get full controller support, albeit with the wrong button prompts (which can often also be modded)

A few web services such as YouTube use VP9. It was developed by google to have a royalty-free alternative to HEVC.

What makes you say that? Last time I checked (about a year ago), yuzu and ryujinx were way more performant and fewer bugs in the emulated titles compared to Xenia (Canary). Have there been such big improvements to Xenia since?

I would claim that most people that need a dedicated GPU for gaming are using steam

Oh yeah absolutely. Doing GPU parallel computing for many people is synonymous with using CUDA.

If we are talking gaming (which by no means is a niche market), nvidia absolutely dominates the GPU market. The steam survey reports a market share of 75% for nvidia gpus

No idea. I think it will struggle hard on RDNA2 (maybe it works okay on like the RX 6950 XT) but should be good on RDNA3

Edit: just looked at some gameplay footage and it seems like 1080p60 is possible on an RX 6800 XT

Unless you have a gaming PC with a ray tracing capable GPU of course. I think quake II rtx will probably remain the nicer way to play this

I should probably post this as an issue on github but pressing the “Enable using Shizuku” doesn’t seem to do anything whatsoever - am I supposed to get some kind of UI feedback? Shizuku is running, but even after pressing the button it still shows that there are 0 links that are opened in Lemmy redirect

let’s hope the 1 year exclusivity is from the release of the first episode rather than the release of the last one. To be fair, I don’t hate the epic launcher and have bought a few games there, but being an epic exclusive reduces the possibility for the game becoming cheaper quickly and there’s very few games I am willing to spend even 40 Euros for.

I don’t know where this rumour about a cease and desist comes from, the dolphin devs have said that this did not happen. They did cite the DMCA, though, so I guess you could see this as a legal threat.

Edit: okay, the rumour comes from an earlier blog post by the devs where they do claim that, but they are reverting that statement

There weren’t any legal threats by Nintendo over dolphin. Valve approached Nintendo asking “are you cool if we distribute a GameCube & Wii emulator on our platform?” And unsurprisingly, Nintendo said no.

Am I missing something? The system requirements for both setting tiers including ray tracing include AMD cards

Edit: weird, another version of the system requirements does not. it is indeed disabled at launch: https://www.extremetech.com/gaming/ratchet-and-clank-rift-apart-doesnt-support-ray-tracing-on-amd-gpus-at

It’s really sad how long my country (Germany) felt the need to belittle people when it comes to the media they consume. Fortunately, they’ve become a lot more lax in recent years.

I believe it is the same mod/framework as the halo MCC split screen so you might have a bas time.

That is honestly less than I expected. Didn’t destiny cost over $500 mio? From what I can find about sales figures, both games should theoretically have broken even during their first week or so of sale.

I had never played a Zelda game (or even any nintendo game except wii sports and mario kart wii) 3 years ago. Decided to try ocarina of time 3d on an emulator and got hooked. I still need to play majora’s mask and skyward sword of the 3D games and I have a few 2d Zeldas left but overall it has been a great experience and awesome journey, and I have also branched out and played all metroid and 3d Mario games and consider myself a Nintendo fan now.

Edit: this post has actually inspired me to boot up a link to the past and give it another chance and I realised part of why I didn’t get into it originally was the input lag that can rather easily be mitigated in retroarch. Having a great time

Wow I was going to comment that lemmur is another android app for Lemmy but then I realised it was shut down in February. Does anyone know what the “political differences” are that are cited as one of the reasons for the discontinuation?
