Well, he/she mentioned installing apks from anywhere you like, for example.
I was literally just looking 5’ ago for a white noise generator app in the Play Store and struggling to find anything not ad-supported.
Headed over to f-droid from my Firefox browser, did a search, downloaded and installed the apk directly and now I have it.
That’s a pretty awesome level of freedom.
I remember getting told off for taking my sick days, as in the days you’re entitled to. This no days off, “grindset” culminated in the real moment I realized I had to leave. I purposefully cut my leg open so badly I would have to go to the ER to get it stapled back together. It was genuinely the only way in my mind to take a day off without being harassed for a reason why.
Holy shit that’s insane
I really think it’s ok to post here, OP.
I’m a reddit orphan and one of the subs I’m still missing the most to this day is Google’s official android_beta sub.
So yes, your post is much appreciated.
Maybe it would even be nice to have a dedicated community (and someone still on reddit - I’m not anymore) could get in touch with r/android_beta mods to see if they wanna jump on Lemmy…
We need a clone for that site, maybe find a way to torrent all those apks. Right now that’s a single point of failure, and it’s not like they OWN that content, right?
