Reminds me of the movie “I origins” (the maternity ward part). If you haven’t seen it, it’s one of my all time favorites - and better to be watched without knowing what it’s all about, too easy to spoiler.

A design patent & matching trademark should do. Can’t protect the word mark, but as far as I understood, the name Twitter remains unchanged.

That was news 10 years ago. And Twitter fixed it within a few days.

You can’t do that preemptively when you don’t know what their instance names are going to be.

Many are functionally better and of course don’t have any ads, but often look utterly terrible, unfortunately.

It actively shows as “cross-posted” just under the title.

I’m seeing this in [email protected]. Is that how cross-posting works on Lemmy? All original comments are cross-posted as well?

Then go bugger the Boost dev. Sync is all I ever needed :-)

Technically every instance should have it’s own T&C. I believe over on feddit.de they had a disclaimer somewhere.

I’m literally getting emotional. For me, Sync was reddit. Been using it for over 11 years. Can’t wait to be an early adopter and never let go again.

If you need beta testers familiar with the original Sync or anything, happy to help!

It’s literally THE best reddit app. If you have an Android, give it a shot before they nuke it. Blows Apollo straight out of the water, it’s like miles ahead.

Sounds awesome! Do you have a link to the repo so I can follow you there?

Looking great, can’t wait to test it! Nothing against Jerboa for the time being, but alternatives are always welcome. Been testing summit yesterday that someone posted as well, and I think every app has some unique features about it, so let’s see where the journey goes.

Ideally I’d love to have something as close to Reddit Sync as possible :-P

As for the name, isn’t Lem a bit short? Not that I dislike it, but in terms of being properly searchable on google and the likes it might be better to go for a longer, unique search string, else it could get a bit cluttered.

Nice and clean UI, I like it! Still missing quite a few functions (unless I’m blind) though.

Can I currently only browse ‘all’, or ‘local’ for lemmy.ml, beehaw.org and lemmy.world? Or is there a way to switch to subscribed or local for other instances that I just didn’t find?

Was that any different on reddit? I always felt like the more tech-minded communities had a rather low abuse ratio. Might have been thanks to automod and other anti-spam bots though, no idea.
