ah shit, i went to an itch.io powered dev’s page earlier and it was down, I was super confused. glad to see dmca continues to be abused

The asset streaming requirements are insane- they recommend having a 150mbps connection for a smooth experience with 50mbps as a minimum. Microsoft says they only planned for 250k players at launch, which is stupid considering FS 2020 had over a million sales at launch…

I spend $12 on a movie ticket. I watch for 2 hours. $6/hr entertainment, maybe a little less if I think about the movie after I leave, maybe a lot more if i also buy a popcorn.

I spend $30 on a game for sale on steam. I play it for 100 hours over the course of 4-5 weeks. $0.30/hr entertainment.

Just the value math alone checks out, regardless of the fact that the video game is a more interactive and interesting experience compared to the vomit that Hollywood spits out these days.

Might have also realized after Arrowhead got fucked on the Helldivers 2 fiasco that Sony is an unpredictable bear of a corporation that will instantly chew up and leave their “partner” studios hanging out to dry at a seconds notice.

What 30 years of anticompetitive practices and OEM supply lockin contracts will do to a mf.

Yeah, me too. The majority of my very limited playtime these days usually lands on Minecraft lol

I guess Ubisoft is gonna have to get comfortable with nobody paying for their stuff and their company going under.

The one and only Ubisoft game I’ve legitimately bought was Anno 1800, and even then I bought it from Steam. But I think that will be the last.
