Gifted my kids, both of them already young adults, one of those retro gaming sticks. An absolute bang/for/buck wonder, full of retro emulators and ROMs. Christmas Day, at grandmas was a retro fest, with even grandma playing. Pac man, frogger, space invaders, galaga, donkey Kong, early console games…. Retro gaming has amazing games, where gameplay and concepts had to make do with the limited resources.

My son has a Steam deck, but he had a blast with the rest.

The Wii was a fantastic example of this. Less capable hardware used in very imaginative ways, and had the capacity to bring older people into the games

AMD. Unless you desire the absolute top dog, AMD has your back. Unless you are ready to pay 1.000+ for your GPU, you are fine with AMD.

I have an under 500€ Radeon and I’m OK with it.

Flight simulator is pretty. X-plane is good.

And with some addons X-plane is nearly as pretty. FS is all about VFR visuals. X-plane is about getting as close to real flying as possible in a home setting.

I, for one, couldn’t care less about people. It’s a flight (That’s why I use X-plane) simulator. Spend your resources on giving me a plane and environment that works as close as real life ones. This is not airport lounge simulator.

I live in Linux ( mint) and have had two bork events recently (and many over the years, since the 90’s). Thankfully nothing that timeshift couldn’t solve, but they do happen. That’s why people are getting hard-ons about immutable distros.
