It makes perfect sense to me. First, not are as opposed to ads as you might be. Having grown up in the era of commercial TV, they are just a minor annoyance to me. Second, some people may rarely watch Netflix. Such a cheap plan lets people keep it for those few shows they still watch.
To me, the bigger mystery is why there isn’t a 1-screen 4K package. Forcing people to buy 4 screens when they only watch 1 at a time is what drives sharing. Not everyone has a ton of kids that all want to watch something different.
You don’t use your phone on the bathroom or the kitchen? It never rains where you live? You never keep your phone in your pocket next to a sweaty leg?
I want a phone that can survive minor issues. I don’t want a phone that will die because it slipped into the sink while washing my hands or something like that. A degree of being waterproof does that.
The landlord is the one cheating. They are likely earning a kickback on those included internet plans. Your landlord could have said no. Sadly it’s pretty common for multiunit rentals to be locked in to just provider.
Not that ISPs don’t usually suck. When AT&T Fiber lit up in my neighborhood in 2022, magically Spectrum was able to offer faster speeds at lower prices. Though sorry Spectrum, I prefer my 300mbps symmetrical to your 500/20 service.
