The title annoys me because team 0% did already accomplish their goal weeks ago. Sure it was anticlimactic, but with the rules set out for them from the get go, it was done when it came out tth was TAS.

Don’t get me wrong it’s absolutely amazing and so cool the level got beaten. But this accomplishment does not signify team 0% completing their goal.

This article doesn’t interpret the Berlin interpretation correctly. The things the article says are “must haves” are actually just “high value factors” as the post says.

This list can be used to determine how roguelike a game is. Missing some points does not mean the game is not a roguelike. Likewise, possessing some points does not mean the game is a roguelike.

So while some of these are deemed important to roguelike, it can be a roguelike without all of those things.

Now personally I think the debate over the genre is silly, and I don’t think the Berlin interpretation is really accurate anymore. But to be fair to it, it does not say a game has to have everything on that list. Spelunky is a roguelike. Idc what anyone says. Just because it isn’t turn/grid based doesn’t mean it isn’t a roguelike. It has most all the other high value factors, and a handful of the low value factors as well.

I honestly do love the game but like, this year was stacked lol. I had a blast with it but other stuff was better

I’d like to be clear I definitely do not prefer subscriptions to just buying it once. But really there are 2 scenarios here. 1. The game doesn’t exist on mobile at all. 2. It exists and you can play it if you have a Netflix subscription. I wish there was more than that but tbh I feel like I’d pick 2. At least with 2 the devs get more financial support and some more people have access to these excellent games

Well basically these games would likely have not been on mobile at all. Netflix is publishing them for mobile. If I had to guess, I’d say that Netflix approached these devs and offered to publish for them and provide them money for being on their service. For the devs, it’s free money for something they likely weren’t considering in the first place (porting to mobile). I definitely wish the devs would publish themselves (if they have the means) but it’s not how it’s happening unfortunately. And fwiw they are on the play store. You just need to sign in with a Netflix account when the game boots up.

I def do wish that these companies were able to publish it themselves so they didn’t have to go with Netflix, I can agree with that

Fair enough, but also team liquid has seemingly been around wayyyy longer than any of the city based teams. Of course there isn’t as much passion and history. They’ve barely been given a chance. I mean I’m not that invested in esports in general, and I’m totally willing to believe city based teams aren’t the way. But it’s something I was more familiar with and got me, someone with 0 interest in reports to care a little when I saw my city had a team. Also, not a man btw

Maybe I’m wrong. And it does seem like the manager is probably passionate about it. But please correct me if I’m wrong since I don’t know much about team liquid. I read the ownership section here and it just screams corporate to me.

I understand your point but I don’t think city based teams have to be a toxic thing. Fandom for any team can be taken to the extreme, and I feel city based teams give fun ways to entice more people to care and have fun with it. Also, I mean pretty much every sport entity is corporate. Can’t think of any esport team that isn’t extremely corporate, city based or not.

Sad about this. I know it’s fun to hate on overwatch, but the idea of an esports league being city based was really novel at the time. Ive always enjoyed overwatch, and despite overwatch 2s monetization being absolutely atrocious, the gameplay changes I have enjoyed for the most part

I’m… very cautiously optimistic for the sh2 remake. I really do not like bloober teams portfolio (and I’ve played most of it). However, I feel like since it’s not their own original thing, and it’s being supervised by some members of team silent, it could be good…

If it’s not good I won’t be too upset as the PC enhanced edition is so damn good. But I’ve got my eye on it.

Overall though, yeah townfall and f are more exciting to me
