I’ve been playing bl3 in multiplayer just fine. Me in Linux and my friend on windows. I just didn’t have fun. And iirc when my friend group of 4 played bl2 one of us had Linux. At least I’m fairly sure he already had at that time

Interestingly enough valve has tried your method of catching cheaters your way by pattern matching with a neutral network in csgo. Sadly they never got to the confidence level where they made it automatically ban people because they didn’t want to catch really good players in the crossfire. Instead they send them to overwatch, a system where sufficiently good players could judge the case and determine if the person is cheating.

But also there’s many different types of cheats and that will only gets you so far. Information plays a big role in cs so wall hacks can go undetected if the player masks then which they do since they know they’re probably watched. There’s also subtle aim bot for that reason that doesn’t snap your aim to your enemy precisely but corrects your manual aim by just correcting it a tiny bit.

As the other user described, it is an arms race and so far the cheaters keep finding ways to trick the algorithm after each ban wave. I still admire valve for not going kernel level with their anti cheat and trying the complicated and interesting route instead. However i think that is because valve tried kernel level when it was still resisted by gamers so they got big backlash at the time and went back to regular anti cheat.

I think what worked best for me was trust factor, which rates the trustworthiness of your steam account and since i have a legit account I’ve not played against cheaters since they implemented it and until i stopped playing. It sucks for new players with new steam accounts tho as they get matched with a lot of cheaters.

Well yeah maybe but there’s still a lot of people living there and I have the feeling that the Hamas is not just gonna let the Jewish population live a peaceful life there. You don’t counter a genocide with genocide

Sorry mate i only tried making tacos once but they were fairly mediocre. Nothing special to share really. They were vegan tho so that’s nice.

If you could give me a vegan taco recipe or a way to make Israel disappear without displacing/killing their Jewish population that would be nice. But honestly I’d be fine with the taco recipe

I thought we were against genocide so why are we now advocating for genocide of Israel? Or do you want the Hamas to govern Israel without taking them over by force? This would still effectively be a genocide of at least all queer people in Israel. Sorry i agree that Netanjahu is a fuckhead and wrong but two wrongs don’t make a right, the same way the wrong of kidnapping a fuckton of people didn’t make genociding Palestinians right.

A videogame making views on YouTube is only incentive for first playthroughs as views on YouTube are usually for people’s reactions to stuff. Speedrunning really usually is a passion project.

That’s super interesting to me. I’m pretty much the opposite. I tried civ 6 on the deck but it failed to trigger me going into hyperfocus like it does on desktop

Steam OS, which they use for the Steam Deck is based on Arch btw, which is why

It has difficulty options but it’s if you use summons, heavy shields and similar stuff. Bosses can become really easy that way if you want to. You could also go for a solo playthrough with no shield for more difficulty.

Elden Ring is both the easiest and hardest Fromsoft game in recent times because of how many really strong things are in it for the player to use. But if you play melee only, the bosses are harder than the old games.

I was the same. I tried Ubuntu once and went back after a day or two because i didn’t want to bother tinkering after work when i just want to relax. A few weeks ago I was finally so annoyed by Microsoft’s bs that i tried bazzite which gets recommended a lot here and it is great. I didn’t have to open the terminal even once so far, everything just works right out of the box.

So far I’ve tried Elden Ring (online as well with anti cheat), Age of Wonders 4, Talos Principle 2, Baldurs Gate 3 and a few others and they all just work and not in the Todd Howard way but actually. I also went through a bunch of the recent demo flood on steam and no issues.

I’m gonna miss Valorant but I mostly played that one once in a few months. And i can always just make a little 300GB windows partition that i only boot for invasive anti cheat games.

Singular they is older than singular you. So that is “thy pronoun doesn’t define thee” for thee, olden English person. I forbid thee from slandering yon fine folk whilst unlearnéd in the history of speech.
