I think we need to make a distinction between remakes and remasters. Full on remakes like RE4 should be allowed to compete, remasters or remasters masked as remakes shouldn’t.

I remember when people mocked Konima for MGS2’s story… But I always said that criticism was unfounded, and that MGS2 was a perfect capsule of crazy, thought provoking and meta storytelling.

Death Stranding though… Yeah the man lost the plot there. At least he acknowledger the game needed to be more fun, and I see huge potential for the gameplay concept… So here’s to a more enjoyable sequel with great presentation. I have 0 expectations for the story but thats ok.

I didn’t even know they were working on JA3. JA2 was a ton of fun but its been a good long while since then…

I wonder how good the coop and open world aspect of it really is.

Did they deliver everything they promised but lied about?

If not, then it doesn’t matter how good the game gets. We should appreciate their efforts and commend them for it somewhat, but not sing their praises beyond that until every single thing they promised is delivered and then some as it has been another development cycle since the game’s release.

I played the Lies of P demo for almost 6 hours. First pre-order in years.

Last game I pre-ordered before was Cyberpunk 2077, of course that turned out to be a huge lesson. I no longer pre-order anything, Lies of P was the exception because their push for people to try the game themselves along with their reaction to feedback was reassuring. Plus with early access to the game at a date that is perfect for me to dive in based on my schedule, seemed like a good time to show some appreciation.

Why not make a fake loading screen that adjusts load times based on how long it took to load the previous instance within the same environment?

If I’m using the same version of everything, and same hardware, then those load times would be very similar or near identical, and I no longer have to deal with randomly jumping status bars, no?

I think this is a step in the right direction.

However, what if it’s a secret boss? Should the hidden trophy say “defeat the secret adversary”?

I’d rather stumble upon these things completely blind so I don’t know how they can give the trophy a meaningful unhidden label without spoiling something.

Stuff like this is another reason why I believe trophies are useless, outside of a miniscule dopamine dose from hearing that jingle upon beating a hard challenge, and knowing what % of players beat a certain story boss and seeing that % go down the further you progress in a game and start feeling like some badass…

Nah I think we’d be better without 'em.

I assembled my current workstation with an RTX 3080 to coincide with Cyberpunk 2077 release.

Now I was lucky I bought it right before prices got gouged by scalpers, and to this day its considered a high end PC. 2 years with 0 issues and easy customization.

In hindsight that piece of trash scam of a game was a blessing in disguise.
