Definitely would like it in the Premier League!

Another thing I’d like to see is an end of players surrounding referees. Should only be captains, refs get too much abuse and it trickles down to grassroots football, then we wonder why there is a lack of quality when the pool to select referees is small/close knit.

Honestly I’m not sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re still behind the times. Rangnick often pointed out how inefficient the club was. LvG and Mourinho have also said similar things.

Last year we sacked senior members of our scouting staff just before the summer window opened, the ineptitude runs deep at our club 😅

I can help out if needed, but I only use Lemmy on a third party app so I’m not sure if mod tools are available.

It’s one of the reasons why United supporters say we’re not a very well run club. Our transfer nous has been subpar since Fergie and David Gill retired

I’m really glad to see we got him over the line before preseason. Hope we get a GK and Striker in ASAP too.

We struggled immensely at the beginning last year because we made our transfers very, very late into the window. Including when the season had officially kicked off.

Midweek there are usually European matches on, so maybe on Fridays? Reddit footy subs have free talk Friday threads, maybe something like that?

I like the way this sub is right now in terms of sticking to news and transfer updates. If it turns into a wild west of memes I’ll probably leave. But I can live with 1 day of the week. Daily Discussion threads would also be a great addition as ThePowerofGreek suggested.

Hey this is pretty cool, maybe I’ll get back into gaming during my summer vacation. Thanks for sharing!

The fight for the top 4 is going to be interesting this year.

Yea it’ll definitely be interesting!

  • Liverpool going through a transitional phase, but they have quality both on and off the pitch.

  • Chelsea had a tumultuous year, but they’re having a major clear-out and a new manager. Perhaps they’ll turn it around next season, with a young squad and a manager that had historically done well with a younger squad that buys into his ideas.

  • Manchester United is undergoing a sale which has hampered their summer window business. Will the manager have enough time in pre-season with his new players to implement his style of play?

  • Newcastle have added an incredible midfielder in Tonali. He was the heart and soul of the Milan midfield, a great leader too. Newcastle can definitely challenge for top 4 again.

  • Spurs recently signed a new manager, although they’ve been struggling to build a coherent squad. Will be interesting to see how they get on.

  • Arsenal are coming off a very difficult season after losing out on the title in the final weeks in spectacular fashion. Will the young core be able to bounce back? The owners have gone all in and are investing heavily in multiple positions, showing great ambition while adding quality players. They will definitely challenge for top 4, possibly the league again.

  • City are City… an absolute machine that just won’t stop.

  • Personally think Villa are the dark horses to challenge for top 4 next year. Emery is cooking something special in Birmingham, can definitely see they make a cup run at least.
