Awesome thank you… Did a little digging and I think I’m good. I have a 4070ti desktop card and 3070ti mobile both seem to be solid.
I have actually used mint previously. I use Linux a lot but not as an os per se. I’m a developer for a living and the bulk of disks I spin up are Linux based. Different use case but hopefully some of that knowledge will transfer :)
Looks like nothing at all…. I know when I looked back a year or so ago people deterred me due to Nvidia drivers not being well supported.
Had a read up on Bazzite last night and it looks just the ticket ! :)
Thanks for the reply (and thanks to everyone that responded). Going to install on my desktop, laptop and handhelds as of tomorrow :)
I’m a huge Metroid (Metroidvania in general fan, it’s pretty much the only genre I play these days) but for some reason Dread didn’t hit the spot for me. I got right to the very last boss fight but can’t say I enjoyed my time with it. The EMMI I found more infuriating than fun and it just felt like those sections killed my favourite part of these types of games which is wandering and exploring. I know you could go back after, but tanking it through areas to get to safety I found frustrating.
However, the movement is goddamn slick in Dread! Don’t think I have played another Metroidvania where it feels that good to traverse and move around the map. Prince of Persia comes close, but fully geared Samus in Dread is just an absolute joy :)
The 2080ti is great card!
I’ll be honest, I stay up to date on gens because I can through work. Reality is, games seem to have plateaud a good few years ago and we’re upgrading due to shonky development / crap and lazy optimisation most of the time.
I play primarily metroidvania’s and older games 95% of the time and if it wasn’t for work I would probably still be rocking my 1080ti :)
Anyhow, rant over and thanks for the feedback !
