I do a lot of photography and I share it on my deviant art page.

It’s SFW, don’t worry.

Hell yeah that’s freaking awesome

I hope to see these become popular someday and with that kind of increase they’re likely to get a shit ton of funding

NGL I think it should all brain chips should fall under “concerning” and “controversial”

The artificial eyes that existed in the past come to mind.

For those unfamiliar, when the companies that made them went under support for the devices vanished and the people who got them were left with broken and defunct hardware still stuck in their heads

They got to weasel out of admitting wrong doing as part of the settlement?

What a joke

Cool

I’m learning more and more about Linux while using Linux Mint

It’s pretty cool NGL

When I looked into it the first thread I found about it mentioned that those were disabled

But looking back at it the thread was from a year ago

Depending on your game preference it may be already there in some aspects

Basically it depends on the kind of anticheat the game has

So you’re running windows without system updates, without restore points, AND without windows defender?

That’s pretty daring raw dogging the internet like that

I use Linux Mint on a bunch of my machines

In general it’s pretty painless

I still have a Windows machine but I’m hoping to fix that soon

Inflation can’t even lose this much money is such a short time

The first tweet nft sold for $2.9mil and is now “worth” less than $4.

Like it was worth anything at all in the beginning anyways

Edit: Spleling

The main problem is the “No end of life plan” issue

If the software/game/whatever has to call a server to verify itself then when the company goes under or stops supporting it then the software/game/whatever becomes useless without a crack of some kind that may or may not be possible for the layman to implement

Companies need an end of life plan for their products with DRM

DRM isn’t evil, it’s just it’s current implementations and the fact that when the software is abandoned companies don’t remove it. There’s no end of life plan for their software

Also some forms in the past have been straight up evil.

I’ll never forget sending a letter to a dev because I lost their code wheel for a game I owned and they sent a letter back telling me to buy the game again ‡

I’d say that was my first step towards piracy

‡ Before anyone asks: No I don’t remember what game it was for or what company I sent it to, that was decades ago.

What are you talking about?

I only buy bananas at self checkout, it’s the reason I go to self checkout.

50lbs of bananas and nothing else.

We were talking about consciousness not AI created works and copyright but I do have some opinions on that.

I think that if an artist doesn’t want their works included in an AI dataset then it is their right to say no.

And yeah all the extra data that we humans fundamentally aquire in life does change everything we make.

Don’t we humans derive from our trained dataset: our lives?

If you had a human with no “trained dataset” they would have only just been born. But even then you run into an issue there as it’s been shown that fetuses respond to audio stimulation while they’re in the womb.

The question of consciousness is a really hard one for sure that we may never have an answer that everyone agrees on.

Right now we’re in the infant days of AI.

They had such a huge amount of brand recognition and vocabulary associated with their site and Elon just decided to kill that

That’s a really low bar NGL

I’m going to wait for launch and reviews for sure

Call your senior relatives people

Don’t just see them on the holidays

Hell you see an old person out and about try to start a conversation, those conversations can have a real impact on their lives.

I’m honestly surprised I don’t see any comments from Lemmygrad and Hexbear accounts yet saying some tankie shit.

Especially Hexbear

Hexbear’s been swarming lately in anything even vaguely political turning those threads into trash fires.

Maybe they’re just focusing on the meme communities right now.

Oh man can you imagine how great this would be if they got hit with a 3 day eviction notice for damaging the property?

That would be so fucking funny

Yeah this place is pretty new and it really does feel nice here (mostly) but I participated a lot in some of the communities I took part in. And those were usually helping newer people in those spaces. It’s pretty fun teaching people about new hobbies and also being that newbie.

It’s kinda sad to me seeing what Reddit is doing, but also refreshing seeing these new places popping up.

I’m going to do what I can here, but I think I will miss it at times.

A lot of people still care about reddit

It’s pretty hard to let go of a community you spent years on
