When the arms race with cheaters has gotten there you should change strategies in fighting them.

Saving 2 hours a week is about the price of ram in a month or two.

Yeah. But not in a personal rig. Professional compute + shit like that is suffering much more. Which is what I was saying.

Fair point. But for data security etc. Most people must use different devices + that’s a for profit, not for leisure operation. I was just saying that you don’t need it in a personal computer you are not using for work.

Why are you doing anything productive on your home PC?

You certainly got a right to, but in my experience 16 gb are enough while 32 are plenty. If I am at work I want more.

Then buy extra when the shortage has subsided. While you are too small to harm anyone you are not doing anyone any favors.

What could they possibly do that needs that much RAM that does not provide an income.

64 GB is more than just a bit of extra memory. 32 is enough even if you are running docker containers.

Just buying RAM for the sake of it and then complaining about lack of affordability is not a helpful thing. Yes RAM was cheap so people did that. But you can just not do that and be mostly fine.

Yeah. Scientific and high performance compute are really eating it on ram prices right now.

And using less memory is much harder than just opening fewer browser tabs.

Software is designed to eat memory for it was very cheap in the past. Well, comparatively.

You include double of the ram you realistically need. Why?

I remember sup com lagging, badly. Never did CNC.

Bottle neck for RTS would neither be memory or GPU but parallelization, cpu performance and memory speed.

Economic realities exist. You cannot plausible fund a product that is this out there without some community support. And if you don’t plan on selling mtx but be mostly free you gotta make a lot of money. Servers are expensive, yo.

It can’t run on CPUs that are older than 6 years. This is a non issue for regular users.

Not playing it, but AoC seems to have a lot of potential.

If you like a particular Iteration there is little to stop you from playing it.

Every version is an unique interpretation of the core premise.

Eve online, I guess. Most MMO one used to play.

I fail to believe that just the developer is at fault. Most wouldn’t work for me nowadays.

This looks like the largest plant, not the largest individual battery.
