…It would’ve directly competed with an active game that Valve are still monetising, using the same assets, on an engine made by Valve themselves. Compare to Black Mesa: a remake of a very old game on a new engine using altered assets; and even then, Valve asked for a cut.
The outrage is undeserved. Doubly so because the devs themselves said they were stopping production anyways due to technical difficulties
I only really tend to play with a group of mates - the most fun to play with is like four or five hours ahead of me, so when they hop off, the whole group tends to head off at the same time. If we don’t, it’s usually just a smaller game that we have fun with for like an hour before finishing.
Basically, I push being responsible off onto someone who is actually responsible.
Nah, worse. They only have official servers, no dedicated option, and there were only three up at one point. I don’t know if any of that’s changed, but since I own the originals, I just refunded it and will play those when I need my fix.
