So it begins. Not so fast.
1) Shows they are planning on doing content deals with AI companies.
2) Seems like it is Opt-out vs. Opt-in (see below).
3) It is just a voluntary robots.txt file

Welp this was pretty obvious path and expected. They are better than twitter but still not a good alternative.

Headline sounds like FOSS bro cope. They’re talking about letting users choose to have a robots.txt denying AI dataset scrapers lol.
Not like other sites do a good job of preventing it anyway. robots.txt is not worth the metaphorical paper it’s written on.
Like the bots aren’t already scraping every website all the time anyway.
Saw it coming but I didn’t think it’d be that quick.
