The Federal Trade Commission is sending refunds totaling more than $72 million to consumers who were tricked by Epic Games, maker of the popular video game Fortnite, into making unwanted purchases.
The game makes billions per year. I’m happy some people were able to get their money back, but it’s hardly a drop in the bucket, and the whole time that it has been held hostage by Epic they have been milking it for interest.
I get that they failed to verify a lot of payments being made from grandmas credit card, but apparently Roblox gets a free pass. I guess the lesson to be learned here is if you hire better lobbyists the government will turn a blind eye.
