Wasn’t this also in the big FPS Wave of the era? I keep wanting to put it alongside Resistance: Fall of Man, and kinda remember that being the defining trait of most of those titles. Decent, but overall forgettable, experiences.

Same. I remember Shadow Fall for PS4, looked absolutely amazing, but was quite forgettable. On the other hand, Horizon is extremely memorable, so it’s a good choice to focus on that.

That’s good with me. Killzone was ok at best. It looked great, but It was a very forgettable game.

Yeah you’re absolutely right. That whole era of first person shooters were very forgettable.

I’m not really surprised, Guerrilla is always chasing the latest trend.
Once FPS games weren’t the big thing anymore, they dropped it for big open world Ubisoft style games.
That being said, they are better at being Ubisoft than Ubisoft, much better.
