As our game passes its tenth day since the official release, we are thrilled to have reached one million accumulated users. We are immensely grateful to each and every one of you. While acknowledging areas for improvement, we have diligently addressed them with invaluable feedback from our engaged community. This indispensable input is undeniably what led to positive reviews internationally.
I combed over the handful of negative reviews just to see what was up, since I’ve been enjoying the game so much. A bad habit of mine, but I digress.
Fully half of them are centered around some mandatory button mashing segments, a fair criticism. The devs are responding to these complaints and say they’re working on adding an accessibility option, which I support. I hate the mashing.
As for the rest, it seems like a lot of people just wanted a simple fishing/sushi restaurant management game. They complained that they just wanted to relax and play through a day quickly, but they kept getting long cutscenes and non-diving quests.
DTD so far feels like more of a sushi themed RPG to me. In the first couple hours you assume it’s going to be a simple fishing/restaurant game, but it blossoms into so much more. I think the vast majority of people appreciate being surprised by the game turning into this, myself included. Excited to keep playing
Yeah, as a member of the latter group, the game just ended up not being for me. That’s okay, clearly plenty of people found what they were looking for there. But I do hope they release an “endless” mode where I can go ham on the core gameplay which I really enjoyed.

Yeah, I would love an arcade mode or a high score mode, in addition to a more relaxed endless mode
Button mashing is my only issue. Other than that its such a good game. Really just enjoying the whole vibe of it
Like the harpoon drags and shark attacks? Still way easier than chainsaw clash in gears of war lol
