Not “it looks smooth,” but “it looks indistinguishable from reality because our wetware can’t discern events much finer than that.” Mmmaybe you go a little above that, to avoid two-millisecond events, but beyond that there is literally no point. Shutterglasses, I guess. Niche silliness.
More importantly - any framerate looks amazing. Same deal as G-Sync / FreeSync: frames appear onscreen the moment they are ready. There’s no stutter at 29 Hz, or at 239 Hz.
