Someone sell me on Homeworld.
I know it’s beloved, but it always just seemed like a much more fiddly 2D rts.
I can’t recall the third dimension ever making a huge difference.
In homeworld 2, it barely matters. It’s just a really good rts, with great visuals and a wonderful story.
In homeworld 1, the 3D part totally matters in a lot of missions, and it’s really fun and cool.
The appeal is “spaceships, space Middle East, cool music”
Once you get good at it, the third dimension really opens up a lot of cool combat scenarios. But unless you really need a good RTS or love space or whatever it’s probably not worth getting good at.
I for one loved the first one and liked the second and will probably play the hell out of this one.
