VV was the only studio that can pull off another thps game, hope they get to make it.
Heck, I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again - when it comes to remakes / ports / reboots (whatever even American Sk8land would be considered) they were one of, if not the best people you could license IP to, for two decades.

THPS1+2 was super solid thanks to VV, but idk how it sold though. There’s still market for extreme sports games for sure, though I wonder if the target audience isn’t exactly same people that played og thps. Hope it works out for them

Wow, the comments under their new games’ trailer are savage.
Makes me wonder, what good is free publicity when everyone hates you, and why not publish as a new company?

  • throwing copyright strikes left and right at fan videos
  • threatening developers of fan games with lawsuits
  • actively working against game prevention preservation and emulation

It’s also worth noting that recently console modding became illegal in Japan. It’s obvious who pushed for it

Edit: fucking autocorrect lol

They should remove their shitty uplay launcher while they’re at it.

Ngl I actually liked Desmond’s arc better than main protagonist’s stories from og trilogy (or quadrilogy if you count Revelations) (although Ezio was still top bad-ass character). Modern-day stories after that never did it for me past that.

Idk what it has to do with being tolerant. They just went full woke and were surprised it doesn’t make the game good.

The difference between FromSoft’s and Arrowhead’s difficulty is that

first one is fair to players,

second one is about cranking up rng and changing rules constantly with the nerfs. Bonus Boss figts are on Discord against community managers, when you try to report a bug in game

I wish they could clarify things a bit.

Are these going to be polished short games or rough prototypes? DF did once release a pack of unfinished but playable games before, I’m guessing it’s going to be something like this…?

And how they’re going to stay afloat?
Is it going to be a subscription? Each game costing $1? Or they’re hoping to strike gold with one of the prototypes and turn into full game before running out of money?

"narrative link” to the long-in-development sequel.

“at E3 2017, when the publisher revealed it would take the form of a prequel.”

So… prequel or sequel? Mfs don’t even know what they write about

And unfortunately the game doesn’t seem to have been a huge success commercially.

Iirc they (Ubi) shoot themselves in the foot, because they released BGE at same time (or right after?) as Price of Persia SoT

Ubisoft or not, it still adds to the game preservation issue

Yeah, but then you’re left with about half of work from game

Yeah, but wasn’t Unity a sinking ship? I though developers started moving to alternatives after they announced the runtime fee

And assets, don’t forget assets. If you use any bought assets from assets stores (Unity / Unreal, heck even textures from textures.com), the licenses don’t allow you to redistribute those in raw form.

Even if you’re using only things you have copyright to, it’s still not a good idea to license it under same terms as code. Code licenses =/= art licenses

That’s why Starfield fails so hard, they had to actually come up with new ideas for once.

I actually enjoyed Starfield’s lore, it had interesting takes on sci-fi tropes and was pretty consistent.

If only it wasn’t held back by ancient engine and gameplay elements weren’t so disconnected, it’d have been fine

With how much effort they put into being most despicable company for game preservation, I’m wondering if their employees aren’t constantly adraid of being assaulted in public.

Dunno if popular, never read guides but mine build got pretty cheesy

  • Str or dex, health and stamina

  • Two Str / dex - scaled one handed weapons (there are ashes that convert damage scaling AND add elemental damage)

  • Medium armor

  • Shield just in case for archers

  • For mobs - offence is best defense

  • For bosses - offence + fire / lightning

Edit: I’m assuming we’re talking base game, not dlc

Ok, and…?

Valve doesn’t care if you’re infringing another company’s copyright (i.e. they’re not held liable) and they’re not your legal help either. The developer / publisher is liable for that. All Valve has to do is to respect dmca requests.

There are many “legally distinc” clones of games on Steam. Hell, Palworld exists and they didn’t have a problem getting to the store front.

For Dolphin the problem was a gray area of how it circumvents Wii’s drm.

Very often games are mediocre and/ or not even fully finished which results in a buggy mess,

AAA trash, sure
Indie games are often 10-20 USD and totally worth the money

Oh come on, there will be no players left to play the game then
/s

Chances are that Valve is being weird, just as they’ve been with the Dolphin emulator

Why would they though? Dolphin was very special case, this isn’t.

Tbf they state that first build is throughoutly checked so… Yeah you don’t upload it last minute.

Edit: i misremembered

I’m all down for making cheating in competitive illegal but can’t help to be worried how is this going to affect game modding…

Bruh, they’re treating their employees AND customers like shit.
Shittiest DRM and launcher (on par with ea), shitty TOS (lose games if you don’t login for some time), killing games, “AAAA” bullshit, list goes on

Iirc, your best bet was to emulate the switch port.
The game runs on xbox (xenia) and ps3 (rpcs3) emulators but needs really beefy pc and still has issues.
