Yea I’m running a 5090 so I use Path tracing on everything. One of the reasons I got it was so I could use path tracing at 4k.

It was an issue last year, wasn’t sure that it was ever resolved. I know VR performance was poor in reviews for the latest cards as well. Well poor when compared to a similarly priced NVidia card with SPS.

Path tracing is amazing in Cyberpunk and Indiana Jones. It’s sooo much better than without. Can never go back at this point

Been gone for at least 15 years for me. Like do people still have DVD/CD ROM drives in their machines. It’s been ages since I’ve even considered physical games since I find it a hassle over my steam library. Sure they could take it away at some point in the future but by that mentality Russia could EMP us…

If there’s anything I’ve learned in social media over the past few years is that every wrongdoing can be blamed by the opposing political party. It’s just so simple.

Hmmm never had an issue with bloatware/spyware in Win11. I just turn things off if they ask me after and upgrade and away I go. Everything just works properly and the best part is all my devices work as expected.

But you did? I paid for GameSpy back in the day. And MMOs had fees to play online.

Oh FYI not sure if you want to go down that rabbit hole, but… If you stream via sunshine/moonlight with hardware acceleration 4k120 is playable with minimal input lag. I stream Cyberpunk, RDR2, Indiana Jones to my OLED in the basement.

Why is this even relevant? So don’t buy something new then, you don’t need to announce it.

That makes sense… Of course sales will be lower if the game is offered on a service where the subscription fee is significantly lower than the price of the game.

Ah sorry my bad. Was thinking the steam deck had usb4… Well that makes more sense now 😂

I wouldn’t expect the steam deck to continue to sell for 7 years in a single iteration.

Maybe for you but some people don’t have the means to afford better hardware.

I’m not crashing but having an issue with a quest that is bugged in Zalissa later in the game.

Oh I was crashing before but that was due to my GPU overclock. No more crashing after it was set about 90 mhz lower than I usually set it.

If only they could fix the game breaking bugs preventing me from proceeding… Damn Zalissa

True, there will not be a significant decrease in cheating. The main savings will be in cost to the company by dropping support for a release pipeline.

Literally never had the need to disable defender or change anything about my Windows install. Driver support is far better on Windows than Linux.

Innovation has peaked? Didn’t we just get AI? Is that not one of the largest innovations to occur in recent time?

Same. I love my PS5 and have had almost no issues at all with it. I also love my PC but I use them for different purposes.

Oh my bad, yes we were (I brought it up lol) comparing consoles and PCs. You are correct.

I thought this discussion was about Sony continuing to invest in the console ecosystem, not specifically for people who already had a gaming PC.

I do agree support is getting better quickly but it still has a ways to go, at least to match the compatibility of consoles.

The problem I’ve always run into is steam big picture, games with launchers, resolution issues, display scaling for large screens (more rare now), no Dolby Atmos, poor HDR support, and general difficulties for other family members. Consoles are just far far more consistent with the experience than PCs, currently at least.

Why not both? I have a gaming PC for titles that are best played on the PC and the PS5 is for when I want to relax on the couch.

Let’s suppose you are right for a moment, can the $350 buy a case, power supply, motherboard, CPU, RAM, hard disk that is on par with the PS5? GPU is only half the equation.

You’re not wrong. It’s far more powerful than any PC you can build for the same price. Everyone likes to complain on this platform, maybe more so than Reddit. Anything a company does to make money is down voted and called unreasonable.
