Not really, they’re kind of hated as a brand, when Chinese people see the Samsung brand they immediately think Huawei because they were taught Huawei is the Chinese Samsung.

The CCP leadership lined up against a wall so we could finally stop their genocides and their people could know freedom?

Sounds like a happy outcome to me, them too.

It’s just managers terrified people will realize they have 0 value.

I retired once, very young, it felt stupid.

Job satisfaction makes working feel better than retirement, and you have an excuse for not doing things.

Wow, I left shortly after but I was still fresh.

Went to a startup with a xoogler boss who was brilliant but without all the stupid bits of Google, he’s awesome and we’re rocking.

The pay cut was worth the massive decrease in BS, I enjoy my job and being productive.

This makes sense but I’m surprised about the pressure to ship, we saw pressure to deliver but also idiots kept having “brilliant ideas” about the requirements so whatever you were doing was obsolete before it was halfway to completion.

Google was just like God spilled a person.

It’s not senior, or at least not just senior, it’s the process.

You’re doing it for your promotion packet, once you’ve got that in place you leave and your project falls apart because there is absolutely 0 interest or understanding for Sustaining engineering or really anything except “I Made this”.

The smart people hop around while the slow ones try to milk out some promotions to keep going.

It’s a catastrophe, and with the current downturn the politics is turning nasty.

VirtualBox is best, it works actually pretty well.

Also consider wsl, it’s absolutely not linux, but it might handle your minimal use case.

Fusion and compact magnetic imaging, we’d have a tricorder and a path to a: higher density magnetic storage, 2: possible magnetic fabrication, via precise layer deposition.

Supercapacitors should be interesting too.

So, I’ve been standing aloof from all this till more experiments had turned out.

This paper’s synthesis makes no sense, you can’t have any kind of uniforms strained lattice that way, so it would have to be a bulk characteristic superconductors which we’ve never seen before, ie resistance is low and on certain crystalline paths becomes fairly superconductive.

Maybe this is a random fluke and once they actually understand the Mechanics they can make a real superconductors through effective fabrication processes, but if anything this reminds me of Shockley’s first point-contact transistor in structure.

They tried to give me one of these with an a6 cpu after showing the silver one with an Intel chip, went back immediately.
