Modder 'TheKetzku' has shared a mind-blowing mod for Fallout 3 that aims to improve the lighting quality of all of the game's interiors.

I too enjoy not seeing anything.

Yeah, it looks better in the sense of being more realistic, but it seems like the scenes were designed for just more lighting.

I’m getting old and just playing fallout 3 for the first time. Would not be able to play if it were this dark. Remember people denouncing the lighting in Diablo 3 as being too light, I played vanilla and never saw the issue.

Different strokes and all, glad there is a mod for those with scotopic vision.

Don’t think it’s an age thing. Maybe they just have rubbish monitors.

I find a lot of “visual overhaul” mods beyond just textures make games look worse. Most that I’ve tried go overboard with lighting effects that are distracting and don’t really fit the original art. The best visual mods I’ve used were the ones that extended view distances, increased shadow resolution and fixed small but noticeable visual issues like banding and shimmering. Trying to completely rework lighting in a game rarely turns out well.

Yeah technically better but artistically worse.
