Haven’t really had any problems so far in regards to crashing, that being both on Intel and AMD with a 4070 and 3060ti.
Sure a few texture glitches and some loading ship animations have been a bit glitched, and the occasionally ragdoll enemy leads to stuck in geometry, but otherwise it seems mostly fine after some 20-30 hours.
What I find much more egregious is the amount of loading screens, combined with ship combat just plain being boring/being too hard in the starter ship.
Well maybe I’m just a console pleb, playing it on my series S, but I have issues where it hangs on load screens, times where I’m landing my ship and it just disappears and won’t let me out, or just times where it simply crashes.
Not to mention quest breaking bugs and other things I’ve experienced. But what the hell, I guess I should just upgrade my computer, right Todd?
Ah yeah ok, I had longer loading times on my 9700k, so yeah the series S might be hard pressed. The bugs you describe sounds annoying as hell.
Quest breaking I have luckily not run into (yet), but I have started getting the same outposts over and over on different planets. The good old mass effect board the exact same ship, which makes sense in universe but gets a bit dull after first couple.
for some reason my first playthrough barely had any bugs outside of visual glitches, then after doing ng+ 10 times and starting my 2nd proper playthrough in ng+10, my outposts were broken, ship kept taking off with only the interior, crashes every time I play, I have 2 pet rocks that now float around my ship forever, my gun doesn’t come back up after I stop sprinting, and phase time occasionally breaks, lasts forever, and only lets me shoot once.
Don’t know what changed, but it seems the game slowly gets more buggy the more you play it, and some bugs bug out your save and any later saves, instead of just the session.
enjoy the bugless experience while it lasts.
Also, doing the temples 240 times was not fun lol…
I got a code for a free month of Gamepass Ultimate. Played Starfield for a month and had the option to pay to continue or cancel. I canceled. I didn’t even keep my saves, the game truly bores me to tears.
Honestly though, I give Gamepass Ultimate pretty high marks. I was able to play Starfield on my Xbox One S via cloud streaming and seamlessly switch to an actual install of it on my PC when my SO wasn’t busy playing Baldur’s Gate 3. I could see myself paying $17 for a month’s worth of it in the future to keep from blowing $80 on the next Starfield.

I was one of those subscribers. Then I cancelled it because GeForce Now lets me play the PC version, which is prettier and lets me use a mouse to aim.
