Bring Volnutt back from the moon!

I wonder if they do remake of mml1 and 2

Ohh do they wanna move their hq to Saudi and name it EA Nasir?

But then the issue is not because Valve is vicious company that kill competitor, it’s because the competitor keep shooting themselves. It’s like Luigi keep wining by doing nothing. What do you expect Valve to do?

Saturnalia also looks pretty good tbh. Maybe this is what they mean by having external party joining the porject instead of having people inhouse doing the work.

As Pietro puts it, Santa Ragione operates “more like a film production studio, where people kind of come together for a project rather than being there all the time”, often from fields outside video games. Saturnalia’s art director, Marta Gabas, for instance, is a film and theatre set designer who had never made a game before.

The visual is significantly different between game, and this new one in particular feels like they run out of money and have to use bought asset to stitch together a game with no visual coherent. Gamedev is a very risky business and they seems to be on the way out anyway.

You might not immediately recognise the name Santa Ragione, but the independent Italian studio has been creating boundary pushing, award-winning games for over a decade and a half now.

Award winning, best indie game studio yet the name is unrecognisable…? It’s pretty fishy just from the beginning of the article. I checked their game, some are not well received, and their latest game have only 92 reviews on Steam. Not good, seems like the studio is already on their way out and he believe Horses gonna save the studio.

But if you look at the game

https://youtu.be/JYewjNYxV-8

It’s an asset flip niche horror game, it’s not gonna save the studio. So what left is the dev trying to spin a sob story to hopefully rile up the anti-steam crowd to get some pity sales.

Yes, i got it for free as well few years ago, never played it.

Based on my currently highest time spend in the game, in no particular order: Terraria, Dark Souls 3, Factorio + expansion, Stardew Valley.

The last one kinda depend on some caveat: Fallout 4(assuming mods also survived), Project Zomboid(if the dev will still working on it), or dying light(assuming some mods also survived). Else Prey 2017.

Edit: honestly i would put Monster Hunter 4U up there, but not sure if i can still take the early game grind, World kinda ruined a bit of 4U but it still a significantly better game.

It is. “From failed product to global success” will also drum up a positive vibe about this particular hardware. What i meant by it is it doesn’t really matter if the previous iteration is a failure, what people really care and what’s important is the current iteration and what Valve learn from their past mistake, and the marketing team of Valve know exactly that. It’s marketing after all, turning negative vibe to positive one is part of the marketing strategy.

Does it matter though? You can put it as a failure that got so bad Valve eventually cancel it, or you can put it as a product that got good from countless iteration. Its kinda like glass half empty half full kind of situation which eventually doesn’t really matter.

If you have that reaction merely because people are excited about it, chance is you won’t buy it anyway.

Reddit be like

User A: i made this

Reddit: fuck off with the self marketing!

User B: my friend(definitely not me) quit their job and made this

Reddit: ohh my god this is brilliant!

The issue with that is, people have no idea what these “choice” even mean. SteamOS is SteamOS, Windows 11 is Windows 11, MacOS is MacOS, but Linux is a big list. If pushing adoption is the key purpose, the manufacturer need to pick one that they believe is reliable and in active development. Just one. All these editions will very likely cause choice paralysis, which lead to people deem it as “too complicated”.

Also Valve will not likely go that path again.

Do you have anything else to add? Because being unhelpful doesn’t solve my issue, but to inflate your ego. Others tried, and i acknowledged my problem and will try other way to see if it helped. And you’re here to bitch about my unsuccessful attempt.

Yeah, my plan is to isolate both OS so it doesn’t interact at all. Was thinking about wiping out the old drive after backing up after installing mint, doesn’t seems to work out lol.

Did you already install Linux Mint on a drive and your computer is now refusing to boot from it?

This. I already tried setting the bios to boot from that particular drive and it gave me this message. Might have to try let the installer decide the partition like another comment suggested to rule it out, and try turning off secure boot if that fail.

What is saying “not bootable drive”? You should make a primary partition on the target drive.

When booting, after the bios screen it give me a black screen with that message, and refuse to boot.

Also, even if you don’t have tpm, you may have some sort of secure boot preventing non-windows drives from booting.

How do i navigate this? My machine is build around 2012-14 so not sure what its in. I had someone build it for me so i’m not sure what’s in it.

I tried installing it on a new ssd so to separate window and linux stuff(and also upgrade from a bunch of very old hdd), the guide recommend me to select “something else” and create the partition accordingly. I follow their official guide here

https://linuxmint-installation-guide.readthedocs.io/en/latest/install.html

At the time i’m installing, i still have my old drive plugged in so in fear of messed thing up badly and had my whole data erased, i chose to manage the partition myself. Should i unplug everything other than the new drive, and have the installer do it automatically?

Tried switching to Mint yesterday, it’s a struggle as the guide kinda failed to mention some detail that i have to google a bit, and the result is it fail to boot(not a bootable drive error). Might try again tonight or this weekend. Honestly i can’t see mass adoption if it’s this PITA to get it working(not plug and play like windows), unless it’s provided by the manufacturer.

Edit: so one of a few struggle i have is the guide failed to mention i need to create an efi partition, i have to google that for the recommended size.

Another is the “primary” and “logical” partition. I have no idea which to chose so i put everything on primary, not sure if this cause the issue.

Then another one is what should i mount my “rest of the partition” with, i googled it and all the answer given is “you should probably read on what is all this about to get a sense what you should do” when i just want some simple answer to what should i do with that, like in Windows, C is for the OS, and you put everything on D or something like that. It’s akin to asking me to read the whole physics chapter when i just wanna know what speed a horse could run.

Then the final nail in the coffin for the session is “not a bootable drive”. Then i just plug in my windows ssd and go on with my day.

Still on Silksong, second run. So far still finding new stuff and alternative path. Dancers is still the best boss design so far.

That one is kind of a remaster though, this one is a proper remake. Not sure if it’s necessarily.

Yeah, i remember being so bored of it because i literally just click the enemy and everyone explode, and only occasionally spongy enemy. I also remember i can’t progress much in that 8 hours i put in, thing feel and play the same for that long. It just wasn’t my thing.

Yes! I played Grim Dawn for about 8 hours before i quit, and according to Steam, i dip in a whole 30 minutes before i uninstall it. I can’t remember about the game at all and why i quit, i assume it has the same issue with Grim Dawn.

Grim Dawn. “hey remember Diablo 2,the best ARPG ever? This is that but better!”

No it’s not. It’s not bad, but it just doesn’t click.

Nobody care about your credentials though, your “people still use microsoft product” comment is the one that sounds like you’re living under a rock.

Probably yes, because AI might change thing too much while right now they can just tweak minor stuff and resell it.

I mean i wouldn’t mind having dating sim with Wolverine, but going frenzy at the front line is his specialty.

Maybe Dispatch might fit your criteria?

Because once you finished the story there’s really not much sidemission for you to play, and the world suddenly feel very empty without the excellent characters. I quit the same way.
