I loved the gameplay as well, it seems like a fresh take on the classic turn based jrpg formula

It’s because there’s a lot more optimization you can do on a fighting game vs a big open world, it just doesn’t have to render that much comparatively.

No I’m saying that it being a fighting game meant that it’s much easier to optimize because you have such a fixed camera angle and few characters on screen.

Idk I think the only one of those on that list that I’ve played that ran well enough that I’d consider it ok was tekken and I’m assuming that’s more because it’s a fighting game.

Audio has seemed fine to me, have only need the subs for the characters that aren’t speaking a real language lol

I’m seeing more like 7ghz for the bismuth stuff, still really good but nothing completely insane like 500 ghz. Do you have a source for that?

Microsoft/Xbox has been pretty good on the hardware side with their Xbox Adaptive Controller

For steam games? Steaminput’s translation layer seems to work pretty well

They’re great on windows too, and the extra features like the triggers are really nice for the games they work in

Not even the same quality, piracy is often better either because they combined multiple sources to get better quality or because streaming services won’t even give you the quality you pay for without jumping through their hoops. To the second point, Netflix stopped supporting pcm 5.1 audio on their desktop app so I have to pirate the shows I’m paying for unless I want to watch in stereo.

DP is working fine for me, it could have been a botched upgrade and you just have to try again (or DDU)

It seems better on launch with the nvidia driver for it than it was during the first open beta but I think they’re right with the overly aggressive culling and texture streaming causing issues. They said it’s still more than playable at 4k60 with my 3080ti and I’m having a blast

Yeah after reading that I used tracker.gg to look at my match history and it seems like around 1 in 10 quick play matches were bot matches, I watched the replay of one and it was pretty obvious. No competitive matches at least

I hear people say this but I’ve yet to see it, usually just toxic people calling the losing team bots

Yeah I’m surprised nobody else mentioned CS, it’s kind of the eternal FPS in my mind

Like with photoshop there’s definitely some AI content that’s unmistakeable but the good stuff gets really hard to tell.

That could be true, I quit during battle for azeroth

The game uses every type of dark pattern there is to make you log on every day and soak up all your time.

Yeah I lost all respect for them after it came out that their article on the October 7th attack was all bullshit

Pirate them and emulate them, not pay for this crap that doesn’t even meet safety standards.

This is a pretty early look at the tech but what they saw was that input latency actually increases with frame gen turned on so maybe that’s wheat you’re seeing? They also noted that at a 60fps target the generated frames were much more noticeable, so maybe that’s what you’re seeing?

Frame generation can only guess the next frame based on previous ones and motion vectors so when you do something it can’t predict (press a button) it still has to draw that normally. As I understand it because of this the input latency is going to be the same as if frame generation is off it will just look smoother.

I liked the story but to call the gameplay dull would be an exercise in restraint

Conversely I really liked how dynamic the UI was and that was one of the things that made it stand out. I didn’t even think about that it could be a problem for some people but feels like the kind of thing that could be turned off in an accessibility menu in the next one hopefully.

Yeah it kills me when I see someone share something like this in the early stages of development though, like great you just ensured this will never see the light of day
